BEN vs HAR, JPP vs PP PKL 2021: Thrilling Encounters on the Way

A Thrilling Win For Haryana Steelers Against Gujarat Giants (38-36)

Get ready for two exciting battles and see your favourite team in action on Friday. In the first encounter, Haryana Steelers will lock horns with the former title-holder Bengal Warriors, while inaugural season’s winner Jaipur Pink Panthers will be up against Puneri Paltan in the second encounter.

Let’s take a look at the preview for PKL Match 38 and 39:

Match 38: BEN vs HAR

Putting an end to the three-match winless streak, Bengal Warriors defeated Jaipur Pink Panthers 31-28 in their last outing. With a combined score of 23 out of 31, both Maninder Singh and Mohammad Nabibakhsh were outstanding that night. The 3-game flop saw the Warriors grabbing only 44 points on average. Coach BC Ramesh must have been delighted to see the Warriors stopping their opponents to 28 points. Bengal Warriors’ offence and defence have that much-needed firepower, and it’s just a matter of time that they will be back on track.

On the other hand, Haryana Steelers struggled with only one win from their first four matches. However, the Steelers are improving and have escaped defeat in their last two games. With their raiding trio of Rohit Gulia, Meetu, and Vikash Kandola and solid defence, Haryana Steelers’ coach Rakesh must be looking for a win against the defending champions.

Head-to-Head

Out of 4 games played, Haryana Steelers and Bengal Warriors have won 3 and 1 match, respectively.

Match 39:  JPP vs PP

A third consecutive loss on Thursday pushed Jaipur Pink Panthers to the tenth position in the Vivo PKL’s point table. Trailing by 15 points, the Panthers successfully rescued a point by outscoring the Bulls by 8 points in the last seven minutes of the match. The Panthers performed brilliantly in the second half and showed everyone what they are capable of. With a sixth Super 10 under his belt, Jaipur’s young star Arjun Deshwal is a key raider of the franchise. In the upcoming match on Friday, coach Sanjeev Baliyan will want to end their losing streak.

With the season’s second win against Gujarat Giants 33-26 in the previous match, Puneri Paltan will want to hit the court again with the same mindset and performance on Friday. Platan’s Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat were incredible in the last game and contributed 18 points for their team’s win.

Head-to-Head

Both the teams met each other in 16 matches, among which the Panthers won nine, Paltan won five, and two resulted in a draw.

PKL Friday’s Schedule

Match 38 and 39 will be played at 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM IST.
