Preview Match 22: CSK vs RCB Indian Premier League 2022

CSK vs RCB

Chennai Super Kings will face off Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 22nd match of Tata IPL 2022 to be played at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai on 12th April 2022.

The defending champions Chennai Super Kings will be looking to open their account in Southern Derby. Their batting struggled with the likes of Gaikwad, Uthappa, and Rayudu not looking impressive with their form. Moeen Ali looked impressive in the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. MS Dhoni has not looked good with his batting getting out cheaply.

They need to click as a batting unit and help CSK post a big total. Dwaine Pretorius might make a comeback in the squad to increase their batting depth. Their bowling unit looks a little weak with Dwayne Bravo, Jadeja, and Mukesh Chaudhary not able to pick wicket early wickets in the first six overs and stem the flow of runs.

CSK would be hoping to see their star players come to the party and win their first match of this year’s IPL tournament.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore performed well with 3 wins out of 4 matches. Their batting looks decent enough with the likes of Anuj Rawat and Faf du Plessis in the opening department. Kohli has come back into form and would be looking to continue with another impressive batting performance.

With the returning of Maxwell, their batting will increase depth. Dinesh Karthik has been in sensational form finishing the games along with Shahbaz Ahmed and Hasaranga.

In the bowling department, they have good quality bowling with the likes of Harshal Patel, David Willey, and Hasaranga. Josh Hazlewood could make it into the playing XI to strengthen the bowling department. The RCB bowling looks good and can trouble the struggling CSK batting line-up.

When these two teams met in the 2021 edition, CSK won both matches. In the 5 matches played, CSK won 3 matches with RCB winning 2.

CSK lost their last match against SRH. CSK could only muster 154 for 6 in 20 overs and took 2 only wickets while defending the target.

On the other hand, RCB won their last match against Mumbai Indians. Thanks to a brilliant bowling effort, RCB restricted MI to 151 for 6. RCB chased down the target with 7 wickets remaining.

It promises to be an exciting encounter with CSK looking to open their account while RCB would be hoping to continue their winning momentum.
