Injured Jasprit Bumrah doubtful for T20 World Cup

Indian pace attack is in concern as Jasprit Bumrah is doubtful for the World Cup after picking up a back injury.

Bumrah travelled to Bengaluru for scans on Wednesday and the results of the scans are awaited.

According to the media, the final decision on his availablity will be taken in the next few days. It is understood that BCCI’s team has decided to wait for a few days to take a decision on Bumrah’s health.

Either way, it is doubtful that he would attain full fitness before the World Cup. Even if he is passed fit, he is unlikely to play all matches.

Earlier, Bumrah had missed the Asia Cup in August and September due to a back injury but then was picked up in the squad for the T20I series against Australia and South Africa. While he missed the first T20I against Australia, he did feature in the next two.

However, once again, he missed the 1st T20I against South Africa because of fitness. In fact, he didn’t even travel to Kerala where the first match took place, rather, he went to Bengaluru for scans.
