Journalist confirms PSG attacker Kylian Mbappe signed his Real Madrid contract in January
Kylian Mbappe has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a long time and it is about time that the deal is made official. However, a Spanish journalist has confirmed that the player’s move from PSG to Madrid has been completed this January. According to Ramon Alvarez, the contract was signed a few months ago, but he was not allowed to say it publicly.
The French forward has reached great heights at the age of 23, and his 235 goal involvements in just 208 appearances is no small feat. After joining Les Parisiens in 2017 initially on a loan deal that became permanent a year later, Mbappe has attracted attention from his dream club. Although Real Madrid was interested in him back then, lack of game time lured him away from that move.
But that is not the case now. The World Cup winner has proved his worth over and over and Real Madrid is now keen to get him on board. Mbappe will be running out of contract in six months and it is highly unlikely that he will be extending his stay at the French club. Moreover, the disappointing Champions League exit will act as a factor for his move to win one.
Last year, he publicly declared his interest in leaving PSG for Real Madrid. This was a respectful decision made by him so that his club could get a transfer fee for his departure. Los Blancos even offered €200 million last summer but the Ligue 1 giants hoped of retaining their star player. Following the arrival of star players like Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, there was a ray of hope regarding him extending his stay, but that has all but ended following the defeat to Real Madrid.
Mbappe was the lone scorer for his side that lost 3-2 on aggregate. Having given his side a worthy advantage in the first leg, he extended it by scoring the opener at Santiago Bernabeu, but an 11 minute falter saw their opponents capitalize and turn the game around as Karim Benzema scored a hattrick.
This defeat was also not received well by the fans who jeered the whole squad except for Mbappe in their weekend win over Bordeaux.
Journalist reveals Kylian Mbappe is already a Real Madrid Player
Since January, Mbappe has been granted the option of signing a pre-contract with a club of his choice as only six months remain. And according to the Spanish journalist Ramon Alvarez, a contract has been signed with the La Liga leaders, Real Madrid. He claims that the contract was signed in January and there was even a meeting between Mbappe’s representatives and Real Madrid’s executives.
In a video on Directo Gol, Alvarez was quoted saying, “I had the info on Mbappe signing his Real Madrid contract on 30th January, but they wouldn’t let me publish or talk about it. They’ve now given me the permission to do so.”
Liverpool is another club that sees this as a promising opportunity. With Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah running out of contract in 15 months, replacing them is of utmost importance if they decide not to sign a new contract. However, it looks like Mbappe has decided his next destination with Ramon Alvarez providing credibility.
